Interested in learning more about survival, preparedness, and gear? I know, I sound ridiculous asking this on a survival blog, right? Hell, that’s why you’re here in the first place!
Well, we’re only two people, so while we do our absolute best to provide you with as much helpful information as we can on this blog, there’s always going to be a huge limit with regards to how much quality content we’ll be able to push out. And there’s so much useful information on the internet already that we decided one more way we can better help you is to gather as much of that quality information as we can, sorting it into one easy-to-browse online resource.
So we created SurvivalShelf.com!
Now we’ve already started introducing this new site on a few of our social media channels, so if you’ve seen a glimpse of Survival Shelf before, it’s likely because you’ve added us to either Twitter or Google+.
We’re really excited about this new site, as it allows us to tip our hat to the excellent content creators that we’re fans of – people in the industry who have worked hard to make some pretty kickass content. We’ve found so many excellent sites, and I’m sure there are many more that we’ve yet to discover – with Survival Shelf, we have a quick and easy way to get those valuable links out to you!
Please don’t hesitate to recommend your favourite blogs, websites, or articles. We’d love to feature them on Survival Shelf. You can recommend those on Survival Shelf’s Recommend Page, or in the comments below.
And finally, if you can spare a moment of your time, take a few minutes to subscribe to our newsletter on the new blog (enter your email address into the form at the top of the page), or follow us on some of Survival Shelf’s social pages (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, RSS).
Thanks so much for the support you’ve shown us already, guys! Hope you’re as excited for this new project as we are!

So glad to see folks taking the steps you are taking to help us all in the weeks, months and years to come. Bless you and your work, and let us know if there’s anything we can do to help!

I would very much like to see some definitive word on Farraday cages or what is deep enough underground to shield equipment from an EMP or a CME. I sometimes think there are no experts out there. Yhanks,

Since funds are limited and we never seem to have enough of what we need to be prepared for, I appreciate any DIY articles that explain how to build something from scrap or limited supplies to provide additional resources for my family. $100+ pocket knives for each family member will not work for us. I have ground down files and made my own scabbards for many knives. Not as pretty, but fully functional. How about something of building an underground storage cache that can be easily camouflaged and fully functional to store supplies in? Maybe night navigation, since most can easily determine direction from the Sun, but not the stars. Primitive shelters, as tents/cots are too heavy to backpack. Rudimentary security alarms to protect perimeters and frighten off invaders. Keep it real !

These are great suggestions. We’ll do our best find as many of these as possible, as well as filling the DIY section with affordable and relevant tutorials.
