Good picks :)
An “off-the-wall” thought = If you go to a local “megamart”-type place, on the automotive aisle, you can pick up a $2-3 roll of red “taillight repair tape”. A couple inches wrapped around your pencil, etc. can come in handy when you don’t want to mess up your night-vision, etc. Easier than carrying/inserting a filter lens.
I have the dome-lights on my truck covered with this stuff (It DOES dim the light) so I don’t have to spend 5 minutes in the dark to drive again if I need to look at a map, etc.. Could come in handy when you want to preserve night vision, or minimize your visual profile at night.
An unexpected benefit from when my kids were little, the red light in the car doesn’t wake up sleeping kidz> :)
Great tip Wyzyrd- never thought about doing that. Could come in useful in a pinch!
