This past week has been pretty exciting for us!
Ever since we began this survival blogging journey of ours, specific websites have stood out to us as exceptionally beneficial to the survival and preparedness online community, besides the blogs and the forums of course!
We’re talking particularly about survival news websites like Prepper Website and Survival Pulse.
These sorts of websites really help connect those interested in survival and preparedness (like us!) with great blog posts written by a slew of fascinating authors in the survival and preparedness industry. Without websites like these, it’d be much harder for us to keep in touch and up-to-date with what’s been going on in the survival and preparedness community. We also definitely wouldn’t know about all the amazing blogs we know about today!
I’m sure a good chunk of you have already heard about both Prepper Website and Survival Pulse, and if you have, you’ll know full well what I’m talking about. These websites are addictive in nature because they pull the curator’s favourite survival and preparedness posts of the day from the vast number of survival blog posts published and then pool them together in one spot for you to check in on daily. What could be better?
In case you’re new here, or just haven’t heard yet, Thomas and I launched our own link curation website, SurvivalShelf.com, a few months ago, but this website is by no stretch of the imagination a news site. It’s a collection of our favourite survival, homsteading, bushcraft, and prepper posts on the internet, neatly organized by topic, and updated once a day with a single link. Very helpful, but certainly quite different from news aggregator sites like Prepper Website and Survival Pulse.
When we found out we had a shot at becoming the new webmasters over at Survival Pulse, we jumped at the chance, being thankful for the opportunity to keep a valuable website that we’ve personally used and loved in the past up and running. We love the idea that we’ll be able to continue to connect amazing bloggers with readers who are truly interested in what they have to say. It’s a great feeling!
And so, as of February 6, 2015, Survival Pulse has officially joined the More Than Just Surviving family of websites.
You can follow Survival Pulse on these social media channels, if you’re interested: Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, or by RSS.
Thanks for sticking around with us, guys, and we hope you get as much out of this exciting new project as we do!

Congratulations! If you can fix Survival Pulse’s RSS feed that would be awesome!

Thanks, Tim! Sorry, can you let me know what is wrong with the feed? I thought it was functional!
Tim says
It seems to strip html tags, including links and newlines. Here’s a screenshot: dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3183918/DU39A77cN7.png

Thanks, Tim! I think the problem was I set it up the way I did for More Than Just Surviving, and that doesn’t quite work. Fixing it now! Should be proper in about an hour when the feed refreshes :).
Thanks again!

Hi Elise,
I like following your blogs, love your contents and insights. However, I was wondering if you would make the texts a little bit darker. It would definitely help people like me read a little bit better.
Keep up the good work.
Thank you.

Thanks kvang! I know what you mean about the site being a little hard to read for some people – I think it’s the font itself and not the colour. I’ll do my best to work on this – no promises cause I’m not quite sure what I can do, but if/when we eventually update the theme in the future, a more legible font will be high on my list!
Sorry about the trouble!

Been trying to work out a fix to this issue since you mentioned it – just implemented a fix now! Should be a lot easier to read the writing on the site than before.

Congratulations. Survival Pulse will be a great addition.
