While I don’t personally use neck knives all that often, Thomas used to EDC both his modified CRKT Minimalist and his modified Boker Microcom in the past quite religiously – sometimes not even taking them off when he slept (not a good idea by the way; they’ve slipped out on more than one occasion because of the way they were modded). Both these knives he personally modified (and quite heavily at that) for the intended purpose of making them more discreet. You can hardly see a print under his shirt when he EDCs either of the two.
The other two neck knives, the ESEE Candiru & Izula, are of course more outdoor/survival & bushcraft-oriented than they are EDCs. They’re more comfortable than they look and are quite convenient as backup blades.
Everything’s got it’s use. And while we have a number of other neck knives, these are the ones Thomas most frequently carries.

I have struggled to commit to EDC neck knives – the benefits of the fixed blade versus the familiarity and ease of pocket carry. The closest I have come to routine wear was the Gerber Ghostrike carried scout style on the small of my back, with loose shirt covering it so as not to freak people out. It was pretty good, but I always had to think about it. In the bush however, they really come alive. The Becker Eskabar, or even a small Mora on a paracord necklace. When I’ve got my gloves on, pocket carry becomes difficult and grabbing clumsily for my neck is the easier of the two when I need a small knife.

Never handled the ghoststrike- I have been curious though! I have worn my classic Mora around my neck and I agree- its pretty incredible how often you reach for it in the outdoors!

Usually only use a neck-knife when actively-camping – almost always a 2-3/4″ Mora. (use crappy bead chain if you wear around your neck. It breaks. That’s a GOOD thing. Don’t hang
I got a good deal on a couple “half-assed Karambit” neck knives from Sportsmansguide. (2 for $12) – 1 is tied under weak arm in my EDC vest (also Sportsmansguide – German surplus camo vest) the other lashed to left strap of my BOB backpack . We’ll see how well they work.

Always useful to have a discreet, accessible blade for emergency use (lashing that needs to be cut, 2 legged predators etc.).

I wish! Wouldn’t mind a bunch of people to order around…and a throne!
I find that as long as the sheath is well constructed (tight kydex with no “give”) I feel safe enough sleeping with one.
Maybe I am crazy.
