Not too long ago, when we did a knife drop that featured Thomas’ top 5 current favourite knives, we were asked why no outdoor knives were included as part of that particular feature. I had actually intended the post to be dedicated to Thomas’ favourite EDC knives, but I didn’t make note of that in any way – my bad there!
Anyway, that got me thinking we really should do a feature on the outdoor knives we own. They really don’t get as much attention as they deserve on this blog, so here are Thomas’ current top 5 survival/bushcraft knives!

Hi all,
I managed to get the CCK pigsticker in XL. Bloody hell this monster will raise hairs of your back. It is a very well made piece. My only pet peeve is that it should come with a longer handle (which isn’t hard to rehandle). If you want to raise hell, grab one !
100% agree about the longer handle. It would be nice!
Enjoy your monster blade Jay!
These are some beautiful knives. Thanks for sharing them with us.
They really are :). Thanks for stopping by, Steph!
Any review on the CCK knife yet?
A fearsome knife for sure. Reminds me of a kitchen Barong.
Actually you’re the first person to request one! Not sure if we’ll go through and do a review as it doesn’t seem to be popular (or easy to get your hands on) at all, but we’ll definitely consider it, and in the meantime take a lot more pictures of it :).
Could we get a couple of pics or a review of the NW Ranger? I have handled this knife and hated the how the hand guard digs in to your finger. Very interested in seeing the mod.
We’re definitely gonna be doing a review on the NW Ranger! (from Thomas: “it’s a fine knife once you get rid of the stupid guard.”)
