Black Friday 2017 Knife & Outdoor Gear Discounts

Welcome to our annual Black Friday Knife & Gear Deal Round up!

This year (unlike last year) we have some pretty worthwhile Amazon deals you might want to jump on, though unlike last year, these are very, very few and far between, meaning we simply don’t have much to show you, but those items we will show you are a lot more steeply discounted and more interesting pieces of kit (in our opinion) than we found last year.

That doesn’t mean there aren’t other great Black Friday sales on Amazon (in fact, if you’d like to browse through all Amazon’s Black Friday deals yourself, you can do so right here), just in the “sports & outdoor” category that survivalist, prepper, and knife gear is lumped into, there doesn’t seem to be much in the way of great discounts on Amazon. That’s okay though, for two reasons. 1. Amazon’s still got a chance to whip out some more good deals on Cyber Monday (which we will write an article for, so be sure to visit back this coming Monday to check that out), and 2. While we haven’t found much to show you on Amazon, there are a lot of excellent deals to be had on other sites.

Like last year, we’re finding the bulk of the best Black Friday knife discounts to be had are on Blade HQ. Seems like they’re going full force on the discounts this year, and boy is there a lot to choose from on their website. GP Knives also has a couple really great knife deals that we had to point out, but like Amazon, these were few and far between, and way more scarce than Blade HQ’s Black Friday bonanza. The thing that drew our attention most on Amazon’s Black Friday Deals Page is their massive sale on Gerber Gear. So if there’s a particular Gerber product you’ve been interested in for a while, visit here because what you’re looking for may just be on sale today.

Yes, we meant it when we said there wasn’t much on Amazon, but if you’re in the market for one of these items, they come at a steep discount and are way worth not having much else to choose from in our opinion:

Yet again, please let us know if there’s a sale at Blade HQ that’s an excellent deal but we didn’t include on this list. Sometimes we miss seeing things, though we do try to bring attention to those discounts that are really worthwhile.

Outdoor Retailer Black Friday 2017 Deals

I couldn’t find many outdoor retailers with great Black Friday Deals. Some have opted out of Black Friday completely; REI for instance, who have closed down stores for Black Friday, actively encouraging people to “#OptOutside” instead (that’s fine, we can do both ;) ). Patagonia is having a 100% for the planet day, stating that everything bought from them on Black Friday is to be donated to environmental causes.

And that leaves only a few that I’ve found with “traditional” Black Friday deal pages: Brownells & Cabela’s.

Not too much of note that we found even then, however. Thomas spotted a few deals he would have liked to take part in (if only we lived in the States!) on Cabela’s:

Would love to know if anybody does go through and buy prepper food this Black Friday which deals you calculated to be the best/highest value. I really wish I could take part in these, especially since prepper food is (obviously) a lot more expensive here in the UK due to less demand. Having the Legacy Food Storage bucket to review only made me want more of these extremely long expiry date foods in my arsenal, because it’s such incredible peace of mind for such a small amount of space taken up.
